The proposed standards address regulations regarding definitions, prioritization, color requirements, and performance for flightcrew alerting. This proposal would update the current regulations regarding the latest technology and functionality for flightcrew alerting. This proposal is necessary to add additional alerting functions, and consolidate and standardize definitions and regulations for flightcrew warning, caution, and advisory alerting systems. Adopting this proposal would harmonize standards between the U.S. and European Aviation Safety Agency for flightcrew warning, caution, and advisory alerting systems.
